Current Projects
Currently, AJPD works in five different projects:
Judiciary Reform Program
This program has as its main goal elaborate suggestions and contribute to the Angolan Judiciary System mainly to reduce the abuse of preventive imprisonment and helping free citizens illegally detained that cannot afford legal representation and have their basic rights violated.
Advocacy for HIV positive Rights
This project intends to provide legal representation for people with HIV/AIDS in the defense of their right to work, health and confidentiality.
Civil and Electoral Education Project
In partnership with Fonga-Cabinda and NCC, AJPD works to guarantee the active and effective participation of all Angolan citizens in the electoral process in Angola.
Human Rights Violations Project
Through research and documentation, AJPD monitors human rights abuses in Angolan provinces as well as a close analysis of all international treaties that Angola is part and those that Angola has not yet ratified. Monitoring of State Services towards HIV/AIDS treatment and services – For this project, AJPD monitors the allocation of public resources to projects and state programs to attend HIV/AIDS treatment and victims in order to promote transparency and dissemination of information about governmental initiatives.
